About Laura

Laura Harris studies sensory anthropology and human-AI resilience at the University of British Columbia.

From 2013 to 2020, Harris ran the film and experience team at Omidyar and A16Z funded humane tech startup Nationbuilder, as VP of Film. For 15+ years before that she was a film and TV actor known for her quirky taste in material. Notable leads include “Daisy Adair” in Showtime’s cult hit Dead Like Me with Mandy Patinkin, “Marybeth Louise Hutchinson” in The Faculty with Shawn Hatosy, SFDA “Jill Berhhardt” in ABC’s Women’s Murder Club, “Zoe Barnes” in ABC”s Defying Gravity with Ron Livingston, and her Screen Actors Guild Award nominated turn as “Marie Warner” in the Golden Globe winning series “24,” starring Kiefer Sutherland.

At rest, Harris and her family are avid travellers, adventure riders, and active in food justice communities.
